No one can ride a mountain for you. Be prepared to feel so tired that you truly believe you cannot go on. Be ready to admit to fatigue and, yes, dejection. There is no such thing as an easy ride up a mountain.

Muddy Hell?
Queen of the Classics. Hell of the North. Paris-Roubaix. Love it. Another forecast of wet weather, hopefully it will be a truly monumental race, a la 2001. The Minion tips Boonen, I tip Gilbert, wait, no, Cancellara (Josh's tip), or Hoste, and Matt will tip whoever wins after it's over. As long as they look like this at the finish.
Ha! Boom Boom Boonen! I confess I didn't even know Gilbert wasn't riding but there were probably plenty of other whinig frenchmen who weren't going to win. Picking one of them seems a hollow exercise, they're all going to lose just as much as the next one.
A recovering DJ and musician and lifelong habitual bike rider, my world revolves around pedalling, writing, wrenching and swilling.... Born and bred in Newcastle NSW Australia, I have been living in the windy city of Wellington, New Zealand since January 2007. I came for the mountain biking, and stayed for the... mountain biking and road riding. I don't much care if you don't want to hear about it, I'm going to tell you anyway.

I guess you didn't know Gilbert was Belgian, either...
